Charlotte is probably a top 5 track for me. It usually involves a lot of side by side racing and during the last few years, it has had a lot of crashes so there is always some drama.
This year proved no different. You couldnt tell who was going to win from beginning to the very end. Blown motors and crashes and pit mistakes kept a whos-who going at the front of the pack. A late caution made it look like a dual between Jeff Gordan and Clint Bowyer but Ryan Newman passed them both and looked headed to sure victory when he suddenly lost it all by himself and crashed into the wall. It was kind of sad actually.
This handed the victory to Jeff Gordan who looks all but certain to be the next champ if he can stay out of trouble. With 5 races left he has a 68 point lead. Certainly not insurmountable. But it is if he doesnt have major problems at at least one race.
Good race!
