I read about it on CBR. They have been keeping close tabs on it for the duration. I know DC lost Krypton and Anything associated with it and also Kansas and a number of other things.
That emo Superman they showed, apparently he crash lands in Metropolis 35 years ago and his arrival causes the death of 35,000 people. The Government then locks him in a basement where he is never exposed to yellow sunlight, but still has some abilities, but that is why he is so skinny and weak looking. Its an Interesting take for sure.
Also, none of these stories take place on Earth-1 or 2 whichever. ITs one of the other 52 earths.
Honestly as I think about it, I think every 5-10 years, DC should have a big event CRISIS thingy and then reboot the universe to one of the other worlds and tell the stories of those versions of the characters. That to me would be interesting and much better than the reboot of the same version repeatedly.

I actually believed you and found articles to support what you said. The online reports are wrong. The lawsuit is not yet settled and there is no indication that DC has lost anything yet. It does look like the Emo Superman is their attempt to poise and press onward in case they do lose the lawsuit. It could be to scare the families into thinking they will market their version of Superman to drown out the original. The "S" logo and picture of Superman is all they need to market the property and name. There are enough film and cartoon versions of Superman flying that the original Superman will always be remembered by that "S" logo. df1
