Look forward for a few moments if you will. There is a new year coming and it's just about here. This year is about over and you should reflect where you and your collecting habits are at this point in time. Looking forward, what would be a realistic/legitimate goal for you to achieve relating to comics in 2011?
The fun thing about a thread like this is if you remember, you can come back and reread what you put a year from now and you can reflect on how well or how poorly you did. But in order to know how you did, you have to put the goal down.

Well, I am currently not collecting. I get a few things here and there, but overall I am at a relative standstill.
so other than that I plan not only on getting more published comics work in the next year, but also to start working on an original Graphic novel.

My goal is to spend 50% less on comics in the next year or fund any purchases above that by selling comics I already own that are not of high value. Downsizing.
I plotted out a rough plot for a Tales of misery story. Broke it down by panels and now I need to determine how the panels will be spread out over the pages. I hope to draw a new story within the month. It's probably only going to be about 6 to 8 pages. I'm leaning towards an Archie style format (multiple stories) or an early Marvel silver age format of having chapters.

I think my comic related goals for 2010 were far exceeded. I looked back on last years thread and seen what I wanted to accomplish and I totally shattered it. I wanted to get back into comics and buying monthly from DCBS again. I also wanted to attend at least 1 comic convention. I bought more comics in 2010 than I have in the previous 3 years combined. I have been ordering from DCBS monthly. I consider it my monthly gift to myself. And I attended 2 conventions. Not only that, I picked up drawing again and have kept at it.
My hopes for 2011 would be more of the same. Continue buying from DCBS and continue getting other comics as well. Mostly concentrate on key books and true collectors items when I am not purchasing new comics. I want to continue drawing. In fact, I want to draw the entire year. Not only that, I would like to see me pick up on the computer coloring before 2011 ends. And of course, I want to keep Comic Crack going.
I think all these goals are reachable as long as I keep fighting the good fight because I have to admit, I have had a hard time doing that this year. But if I can keep on course, I'm hoping that 2011 will be even better comic wise for me than 2010.

Buy all the hardcovers (Shockrockets, The Rocketeer and all 3 John Byrne's Next Men HCs) and TPBs (Transformers vol. 2: International Incident, Transformers: Bumblebee, Transformers: Ironhide, Transformers: Drift, Transformers: Last Stand of the Wreckers, Darkwing Duck vol. 1: The Duck Knight Returns, Incorruptible vol. 3, and Irredeemable vol. 5) that Downtown Comics South (my LCS) has on hold for me.
Buy a full run of the original Atlas Comics of the 70s and if I'm lucky the B& W Magazines.
I plan to focus more on books that I like or properties that I love The Transformers, Mass Effect, Darkwing Duck, John Byrne's Next Men, X-Factor and maybe try out some of the new Atlas Comics Phoenix, The Grim Ghost, and Wulf: The Barbarian.
Also I'm trying to cut my budget so I can focus on buying new cloths, microwave, new furniture, and more Transformers toys, novels, DVDs, Blu-Rays, video games, and video game hardware.
