Udog sent me some test sites and I didn't like it. It looks like my skin will become useless unless we can create it around the new skin, which I doubt. I'm not so much worried about it to be honest, but I'm also not looking forward to it either. It seems a bit too drastic to me. Luckily, they have held off until April. I have some big events taking place between now and then. I guess that will put it off until it sees how things shake out with me, which is a bonus for me at least.

Its not that bad really. Yes there are some drastic change , but its because they added alot of v4.5 codes to the software . Which means the codes that been added to there software you wouldn't need. The one's they didn't add , there are plugin's being made already. There are alot of user's that have made their v5 look just like their v4.5 forum. Which i find is very cool. G not to worry Becca will be making her templates to fit v5. For me i felt and Becca felt the same way you guys feel. But i found the more we played around with v5 the easier we got use to it. If you guys have any question i'll try my best to give you an answer .

I'm gonna be pissed if I can't keep my current configuration. I'm gonna be REALLY pissed. df1

In the structure part of your v5 forum you'll find areas. Where you can start modifying categories and boards, headers and footers, custom pages, and templates. The custom page let you make your own portal. To answer you question yes , if you know HTML you can now directly modify. What is called Layout Templates. Forum Wrapper Board Board List, Board Password Protection, Thread List Calendar List View, Month View, Day View Conversations Page Conversation List, Show Conversation, Message List Home Members Member List Posting Page Thread Summary, Conversation Summary Search Page Thread Results, Post Results Shoutbox Individual Posts Thread Post List, Quick Reply User Profile Summary, Activity, Following, Following List, Friends, Groups, Notifications, Notifications List Edit User Profile Mini-Profile Micro-Profile You can make everything i listed to look anyway you want/like. There is Themes area in the admin panel . Where you find Colors & Styles which give you an CSS where you can add CSS codes the have the look you want to different areas of the forum, boards and so on. You still have Headers/Footers where you can use javascript.

Regardless, there is a high probability that they will piss me off and I'll abandon my board. Modernizing is not always improvement. The proboards domain has NEVER been slower than it has since they've been signing people up for the beta. I think the dynamic content and "improvements" killed Myspace and I think the timeline hurt Facebook. Sometimes people want things just left alone. df1

Agreed. I think Proboard is great how it is now, especially for being a free service. I've gotten used to how my board is, what to expect from it and how to change it if I want to. If Proboards makes these big sweeping changes like it looks like they are going to do, it puts everyone not up to speed in a bind. I like my board the way it is. I think they are going too drastic. It might sound good to whoever is a programmer or a board nerd, but to everyone else who has their board the way they want it already, this might seem very offensive once it happens. I'll deal with it when it comes the best I can, but I suspect it will take awhile before I am happy about things again.

You guys are not alone there are alot of board owners saying the same thing.
But at lease you will give it a chance.

Hey Udog.... Making a public shout out for the next time you log on. I see the update takes place on April 29th. Certainly will need your help to make the transition. I suppose I'll need a new skin and I wonder if all the side things I have attached will just move right over with the new version or will I have to individually install things again? Will I lose the coding for the add ons or will it be somewhere I can find it? Anyway, any help you can provide as you have given me for many years now friend, will be greatly appreciated.
