Big buzz on the internet today proclaims African American actor Michael B Jordan is not confirming nor denying he is being cast as Johnny Storm in the next upcoming FF movie.
Call me racist, but Im tired of all the ethnic changing going on in comics and their movies. Add narrow minded to it too if youd like which seems to be thrown at any commenter who has a problem with it.
Personally I just dont like it and if we keep having to diversify just for the sake of diversity then Im going to stand up and say Im white and proud and whats wrong with Johnny Storm being white?

I may not see it if he's black. I have enough problems looking at a black Nick Fury. Black characters are fine, except when they were white for 50 years.

If there is so much interest in pandering to minorities and changing ethnicity of characters to cater to them, as a white I feel alienated and like our skin color is not a desired audience and further feel like it creates further reverse racism. No one would have minded if another FF movie came out and he was white, but now that its reported he will be black, there will probably be a big upheaval if he isn't and I'm over comics trying to spread the racial tension where there was none before.

This is sadly the safest way for any entertainment group/personality to stir controversy... this is straight out of the "Tyler Perry school of Creative Endeavor"... make something that, if it's criticized in any way, those who are criticizing it can be dismissed as racists/bigots.
This will cause the same stir as the Miles Morales Spider-Man, Northstar's wedding, black Nick Fury and the Muslim Ms. Marvel... people will be annoyed, and those same people will have their arguments/opinions dismissed as bigoted. Meanwhile Marvel gets to look progressive and socially tolerant. I do so miss the days when Marvel would tell stories instead of "leaking" things to social media and fake-ass pop culture web-sites.
A black Johnny Storm? Shit, if it doesn't work they'll just reboot the movie series again in 5 years... and then 5 years after that... and 5 years after that. We NEED to see their ship get bombarded with cosmic rays EVERY time!

They'll lose more fans and then the small percentage that's left can call us outdated and old fashioned. I can call them ignorant and stupid. I think that's a fair trade off. The only difference is that I'll have money to pay bills and be responsible. They'll have a bunch of worthless comics and they'll be scratching their head wondering why.

I see it has become official and any white person who says they dont like it is being called a racist. The cast looks horrible. Im not interested.

Not too surprised on this one. Figure they gotta create a stir somehow... nobody's interested in the Fantastic Four. Guess best thing to do is not make a scene out of it, maybe then they'll try to stop pissing us actual comic fans off. Hopefully this won't be reflected in the actual book... but Marvel isn't exactly known for NOT movie-adapting-and-star-fucking. Guess we'll see.
I guess later on today I'll have to pop over to Robot6 to get the FOXNEWSFOXNEWSFOXNEWSFOXNEWSFOXNEWSFOXNEWSFOXNEWSFOXNEWSFOXNEWSFOXNEWS!!!! view on it. I'm sure their "enlightened" comments section will be good for a laugh.

Just saw the actor say "people will go see it anyway". I'm thinking I won't.

Perhaps this is Fox trying to sabotage Marvel? Either way, I don't plan on going. df1

Either way, I don't plan on going. df1 Yeah, I think you're on to something. The Fox properties keep getting relaunched... which one would imagine will ultimately lead to diminishing returns... how many times do we need to see Peter Parker get bit by the damn spider anyway? I've never seen a Marvel (or DC) movie in the theater (or at home), and don't plan on that changing anytime soon. These goons can't keep continuity straight in the comics as it is, I can't see one of the movies without fear of my head exploding.
