Anyone follows MLS here? I really don't follow too many of the games as most I've seen are just not exciting enough and lacks that nice flow that you see when watching other leagues. I must say that lately it has been getting better with some of the new foreign talents that have been coming in. I would like to get everybody's view as to how they think Beckham will influence soccer in America. I remember the world cup of 94 which was expected to really be a momentum builder to grab a large new fan base. It worked for a short time and then everybody just went back to their Baseball, Football, Basketball, Tennis, Bowling to name a few of the many exciting sports they were watching before. Personally I believe the future of football(soccer) will lie with the many youths in America that are now playing in the many leagues that we have in the country right now. Many of these young players are being influenced by the international players that are coming in. Football really took a big jump in popularity with the arrival of Beckham but with the new injury which threatens to leave him sidelined for the rest of the season, it will be real interesting to see if the Galaxy games still has the large following it had with his arrival.

I would like to get Leon's thoughts on this also. I know that Beckham went through a rough period over there after that World Cup. Not sure how they feel about him over there now. Gow, You will have to explain why you hate him and you don't know him. Personally, if he can help football over here I'm all for that. I don't know if Beckham was ever really looked at as this great superstar over in England. From what I've seen he's best at the set pieces.
