I'm not a big fan of Star Trek. Trekkies are just way too much on the outer fringes for me and remind me of what I don't like about comic collectors. However, I do have fondness for the original tv series. I think Shatner is one of the most awesome humans to have ever existed...and oh yeah, the trailer doesn't look half bad.

Well, this movie is just about here (May 8th). Compared to other movies, it doesn't seem to be generating much of a buzz. When I do see it it looks pretty high tech and detailed and even a bit interesting. But it just doesn't feel like Star Trek to me. Seems the more this franchise has evolved, the more its morphed into something different.

They actually made an excellent film here.
I would love to see Chris Pine (Kirk) play Captain America.
