Iron Man releases in just a couple more weeks in the Theater. It looks very very awesome. As a warmup, I thought I would link this extended preview of the new Marvel Motion Comic, IRON MAN: EXTREMIS. written by Warren Ellis and Digitally painted by the excellent Adi Granov. This book had such an Impact on Iron Man, that parts of it were not only incorporated into the film, but Adi was brought on to be the Armor Consultant. He designed the Movie armor in both films. Anyway, this is an eight minute video. The pace is not fast because it covers the first 10 pages of issue one. But it is pretty sweet. Enjoy it and discuss. comics.ign.com/dor/objects/14229184/iron-man-vol-4/videos/ironman_comic_041410.html

This what I've gathered from what I read on the Internet, and Marvel's Previews catalog, and some logical deduction. So please note some or all of this info maybe incorrect so take it with a grain of salt.
After the Civil War Stark became the head of S.H.E.I.L.D. but after failing to stop the Skrulls during the Secret Invasion he was blamed not doing enough to stop the Skrulls and Norman Osborne became the new leader of S.H.E.I.L.D. Stark battled the kids of Stane and Hammer and eventually became outlaw.
Pepper Potts became injured in a similar way that Tony did and he performed the operation that made him Iron Man on her and he gave her own armor and she became the hero, Rescue.
After helping to stop Osborne's Siege on Asgard; Stark, along with Thor and Steve Rogers get sucked into another dimension where the former friends must put aside their differences and work together to get home.

don't know about that post Seige stuff since that story is still going (and kicking ass also) But the rest is pretty much correct. The Iron Man, Thor, and Steve Rogers reunion adventure take place in The Avengers: Prime mini-series. The first issue might already be out, I'm not sure though. Yes, I did watch it. I just watched the video and while it was one of the better the motion/animated comics I've seen, but I would rather read a comic than watch a comic.
