Another store me and Az stopped at was Velocity Comics in Richmond Va. This store was close to the VCU campus in Downtown Richmond snuggled along a mainstreet strip shopping center. One of those places you parallel park and there is a meter to put coins in which Az said they no longer watch.
Going inside, this was a large small store. Meaning it wasn't very huge, but it was spacious enough to get around easily. It seemed clean and cozy and I was more than happy to go digging around. The books had a good filing system and looked well kept for the most part. Also, good books were sprinkled among the common at reasonable prices.
I felt comfortable looking around this place and was in no hurry to leave. I found myself searching all of the nooks and crannies of the store trying to unearth some deals. I didn't find a whole lot I wanted, but I did find some things. If nothing else, it was fun to look around.
On a negative note, the guy at the counter looked like he could care less about customers as he sat at his island booth and either watched his small tv or played on his computer. When asking questions, he answered but his personality was less than stellar as you almost felt like he would rather you not ask him anything.
It's a shame, because the store itself wasnt bad at all. I could see myself going to this store from time to time if I lived in this area. All in all, I'd have to give it a positive review. It's pluses outweigh it's very few negatives.
