Way to much thought into how a spandex character should act. Then you try and school us on it. Nah, I think the discussion is alright. The other thing is that this IS how the characters act in the comics. Over the Top. They have to be they dress in colorful costumes and have superpowers. These are written by Marvel Writers though. I don't know what they sound like in your head "G", but in my head they sound all serious about everything and have it dialed up to 11 most of the time. Sort of like my wife, everything is some epic calamity. LOL. Granted there has to be some drama, otherwise their wouldn't be any reason to buy comics or watch cartoons. But I think comics have characters set from about 4-8 on the William Shatner radar whereas cartoons are like 7-15. The other thing, is that this is a 30 minute ACTION show. It is geared towards kids. That is the primary audience there is just enough there that older people who are fans of the comics can enjoy them also. I don't think most kids could care less about this. I see them show more interest in Dragonball Z than the X-Men and Batman. No, I think this was geared directly towards YOU and they GOT YOU!!! I liked the old X-MEN cartoon also. It had inconsistent animation, but it like the Avengers, was a good compliment to the comics. Don't get me wrong, when I did sit down to watch these comics, I did half way enjoy them. I did kind of dig the X-Men and Batman. These are a few of the better ones I remember. I remember we used to watch them from time to time at your house and they was okay. Much better than when you used to force me to watch X-Files which used to make me want to shoot myself and say "I'm gonna get Mike". Some of these cartoons were fun while you watched. But I never left them thinking I want to watch more of them or I need to see the rest. If it was happening to be on, I could watch it and enjoy it. But really, they don't live up to real comic books for me. I'll be honest, I enjoyed The Tick cartoon better than the rest of these guys. That cartoon lived like the comic and it's over the top drama was just like the book. I laughed my ass off every episode. I never got the same feel-goods off of regular superhero cartoons. I don't rush out to see new Superhero films either, unless I have researched them through reliable sources. But, those are the types of things I am willing to pay to see on the big screen. Movies are just to damn expensive now, so I want spectical when I go to them. Thank God for Netflix! I get more superhero movies from that than I ever would have otherwise. I still havent seen full episodes of any of the Fantastic Four movies, Daredevil, Hulk and too many others to mention. I know its pretty lame, but I've never had that same sci-fi, superhero, geek book reading, movie, tv, cartoon mentality as I do with just plain comic books. The Thor episode is what sold it for me. I am a big fan of Thor and I felt they did a great job with invoking Kirby and presenting Asgard. Thor looks promising. I think if people say it is good, I will check this on on Netflix when it get there. The thing that gets me the most excited about it is the Destroyer. Damn he look fucking cool every time I see him!!!

Yeah they got me "G". I didn't force you to watch X-Files Maybe after you were to numbed up to argue but that is beside the point.
I was talking about the Thor centric episode of Avengers. the movie does look great, and That one I will see in a theater. Dragonball Z is a 30 minute fight scene every episode. At least Avengers builds on the characters personalities over the course of multiple episodes. The show also does what I mentioned in defients thread about layering in subplots that build over time before coming to a head. That is a big factor for me. The shows can be enjoyed completely as stand alone episodes, but they also build the intriguing plot scenarios that you expect to pay off later.
Bottom line for me, the cartoon is damn good. Very enjoyable.

This show is avaiible to stream from Netflix now.
I have been watching it over on my tv which is much more enjoyable than the computer.
The show, like the original comics, spends the first few episodes introducing individual characters and factions, as it slowly culminates in the formation of a proper team around episode 7. While the show does mix in certain things from the modern interpretation of the characters, such as Black Nick Fury, and the idea of all of the supervillain prisons failing to hold all of the inmates in.
Other than that, this show follows the setup of the original Avengers comics and does an outstanding job of it. AIM, HYDRA, The Wrecking Crew, The Enchantress and Loki, Hulkbusters, SHIELD. They are all accounted for. This show is easily the very best interpretation of the classic Marvel Universe that has ever been attempted. I wish with all of my heart that the comics could still be as enjoyable as this. Perfect characterization.
As for the animation, yeah its kind of basic in design, but I find that I do not notice it when I am watching the show because the show is just that good.
Even if you are gunshy about animation or animated Superhero shows, you should watch this a few times. I guarantee you will have a nostaligic smile on your face.
5/5 stars and well deserved

Can't remember how to make an embbeded video work. In every youtube link there is a identification #. In your below link it is this following sequence of letters and numbers. See this sequence in your below link??? TSSPlXwc6vM <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/TSSPlXwc6vM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> That is the only thing you need. That points at your video. The rest of the link is just pointing at youtube itself. All we are concerned with is the identifying sequence of letters and numbers. Once you have that....paste it into a new message on here. Highlight that number and then hit the "YouTube" button above the smilies when you are creating a new message. This will put youtube start and finish tags around the identifying sequence. And you should get the following results, like so....
