Anyone going? It is next week. Unfortunately I am gonna miss this one. Dealer tables were sold out when I tried to get one.As a buying customer,it's getting harder and harder to scoop up on guys anymore.I cancelled my hotel rooms yesterday...that saved almost $500..and the gas would've been $125-$150. It would be hard to find enough stuff to make all that back. But have fun man,I know you are into getting sketches and stuff. Unfortunately I don't have the time to enjoy this stuff anymore, like all of you guys.Sometimes I wish I wasn't even in the business, because that's what it has been for me the last 10 years...all business.

Unfortunately I don't have the time to enjoy this stuff anymore, like all of you guys.Sometimes I wish I wasn't even in the business, because that's what it has been for me the last 10 years...all business. Ah, but your business at least in my eyes looks fun! I imagine any job becomes a chore after so long, but I still envy your position in a big way. You are your own boss and you make your own decisions. Not only that, you work in a field that encompasses something you have (or had maybe) a love for. Perhaps that love has faded since it is that job that puts the food on the table and pays the bills. But, I wish I had a piece of it to get sick of it myself. Im sure I would find quickly that those comics now have a whole new meaning and the love I once had for collecting would now be a business inventory that I hoped would make me huge profits. Im sure, I would never look at the comics the same way again. Im sure of it. But, I would still think I could admire some of the books and art I see and still get some enjoyment as a fan of comics. Just not as much as a collector. But still, I do see times when it looks like you enjoy seeing good art and cherry comics as much as I do. But I think the dollar signs hit you harder. Whereas I buy to make my collection stronger, you buy to flip for profit. But it does look like you enjoy having good stuff and admire good pieces too. Tell me if I am wrong. You know you better than I do. And I will apologize if I am wrong. But I wish many times Joey that I could do what you do. Even if it sucks a lot, it seems a lot more fun than a regular day job. Sometimes I wish I could retire and do what you do for extra income after retirement. Lot more relaxed circumstances, but in my dreams of comics, I often find myself dreaming of owning a comic store. Call me sick. Speaking of which, On a personal front, Im probably about 99% done at my job. I have taken off the last 2 days. Ive been putting in my applications and resumes elsewhere. I try not to whine about these things because I know it looks bad. But after 11 years of service, I've just cant take all the BS at my job anymore. There is just so much that disgusts me about my job. I still may end up going back on Monday and try and give it one more shot, but if I can walk away....I would and will and at any moment now, I could be officially done. I know times are extremely tough and jobs are ridiculous to come by...but I figure I have about 1-2 years of resources before I REALLY need a job. I figure...or at least I hope and pray, that I find something before those resources run out. I can afford to lean on them as I try and create a new life for me. However, On a huge positive note, My wife just got a new job and will start on October 1. It's been an amazing transformation for her. In 2004 she had my exact job I am doing now (QA Specialist) at my exact place of work working for my exact boss. She was let go due to no fault of her own when my company had a massive one and only layoff. Honestly, they let go of most of the top talent in the building and retained a lot of dead wood. It was disgusting. My wife is better qualified to do my job than I am to be honest. Anyway, to recover she took a job working at a juvenile detention center for the city of Virginia Beach as an Office Assistant. The job paid $6,000 less than the job she lost. She stayed there for about 18 months. She did not like it. While there she took her current job as an Office Coordinator for the city of Chesapeake and she made about as much as the job she lost. She actually liked and shined at this job. Now not 18 months later, her former boss who moved to a job at Suffolk recommended her and she applied and just got a job as a Customer Service Manager for the city of Suffolk. Just got a big raise and a lot of added clout! Im proud of what she has accomplished after losing the job I now currently do. This is actually gives me a lot of wiggle room to find something else and start me a new career path myself. I'm not officially gone yet, but I am pretty damn close. Wish me luck. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend Baltimore this year which is one I would really love to visit. But hopefully next year.

Ol' Josh the comedian!! No kids, newly married, decent job, alot of free time...brother,you have got it made! Good luck with the job hunt Tommy!Hopefully, something will come through for you quickly so you can let off some of the stress! This is a fun job.The clientele are cool, and what I sell is pretty hip to the mainstream. But it's alot MORE fun when the economy isn't biting the big one!

You would think I have a lot of free time but I don't. I worked 72.5 hours last week with no days off. I keep getting a lot of OT lately. I am a tired s.o.b. My company even has me filling in for other departments now. I was a plumber one day. Ended up getting 9.5 hours OT doing plumbing one week. That was my first time ever doing anything like that. It's all good though. It was just something else I have some experience in now. They have been running me crazy on the job I am in charge of. The guy I am suppose to take over for died this week in the hospital. We have a meeting on Monday for the entire company. Maybe they will make me officially the new supervisor then. They gave me a company truck on Wed. Everything is looking good there. I just need some down time.

I' sure you and JT will get some "down time" at the hotel in Baltimore! He can't stay the night now. It's going to be a 1 day show. He left his ATM card in the machine and someone took $200 from his account. His bank is only going to give him back $150. Since he is $50 short he won't be able to afford a room. But he needs to buy a PS3 ($400) this weekend for some reason (so he can be liked by others?). So that is going to take up most of his cash he said too.
