Whats going on with Joey Az? He just disappeared! Did I do something? No. He has been busy trying to keep things going. He didn't even come up for the Richmond show. I think he is just too busy to do anything. He said he hasn't had time to post anywhere like he usually does.

yeah you did something! You got me posting too much on your board! Really though, like Az said,I've been busy with the shop and Ebay. Business has been pretty shitty these last few months, and I'm just trying to keep zoned in on getting more stuff done for the shop. I'm still lurking on here though!

gowaltrip, In response to your post I had a concept to create comics using creators maybe a step or two below professional and print the comics myself. I felt in some instances it would be a springboard to mainstream comics for some creators. I did end up printing some comics myself and paid for professional printing once or twice, but the concept seems dead as I'm busy working a full-time job and selling comics as well. I am writing a comic at the moment that my son is drawing, though. It's about a guy in a one-man spaceship and his adventures travelling through space. I think I ended up maybe putting out 8 or 10 comics total. I had greater goals than that at one time.

I've heard comic stores in Phioenix are real slow at the moment, and one of the big boys even had to lay off some crew members.

Glad to hear you're still around, but its not enough. Take care of business and stop by a few times. I need customers too!

I wouldnt mind if you started your own thread on this and showed us all it took to make it happen. The people involved. The steps to take. The costs and the decision making. Everything! I mean, there is so much that encompasses comics. I've tried capturing as much as I can here. But I havent experienced what you have. I dont experience what Joey experiences and so on. When people who actually do or have done these come on and tell us what is happening, it makes my board more credible. Not only that, I'm personally interested in it and I think those who come to the board would be too. So, its a win-win situation for me. Share the wealth people!

The publishers like to do a big push during convention season and they know that sales slump in the winter so they release less. That's what I've always heard.

I know it isn't all that, but here is a drawing I did for a little project Ive been working on. I would have liked to have done better with the background, but its in a hardbound sketchbook I have and getting rulers to work in it was tough. So I quit while I was ahead. Its also why the left edge is a little blurry. I didn't use anything for reference, this is all from my head. When I get going further, I will use references to make my work better. But for practice, here is what I came up with.
