Not sure how long some of these scans will show as I sometimes have to remove scans to maintain space, but at the suggestion of Defiant1 decided I would from time to time put up a few of my eBay selling scans that I may feel are unique or noteworthy. Starting off is a Patsy Walker #106. I always try and have a broad range of books so I can appeal to as many people as I can and I have noticed over the years that books like Patsy Walker and Millie the Model are not often seen at Local Comic Stores and conventions. So a few years back I decided I would start picking them up here and there if I seen a decent copy at a nice price. I got this one a few years ago for a couple of bucks. I thought it was worth it. I also kind of dug it that she was putting stockings on on the cover. Considering the book is 50 years old, I thought it was kinda racy for those days. Especially when you consider the demographic for books like this was pre-teen little girls.

I grew up a Marvel Zombie but occasionally I would find my way over to DC and give them a shot. Typically I didn't hang around long but I did try things here and there. Over the years I discovered one area of DC I really love and I tried picking up copies whenever I seen them. I personally think 20 cent DC Covers are some of the strongest covers they ever had. I've just seen too many awesome covers to think otherwise. This would be just 1 example. I was never a fan of Swamp Thing but he did have some peaks and valleys throughout my collecting years. His original run with Wrightson I would consider a peak. This Swamp Thing #7 guest starring Batman to me, is just nice stuff.

Here is another example that I am referring to. I've never been a big fan of Superman, but I thought this cover was kinda nice and colorful. I think I remember reading that DC was going through some troubling times during this period, especially since Marvel had basically dominated the 60's. I think they made more of a push to up their game. Their 60's stuff was often just silly. In the 70's they pushed to be more grown up and dynamic like Marvel was. It's covers like this that attract me to 20 cent DC's.

I grew up loving covers like this and that has never left me. I still love covers like this today. But that is the problem. I find covers like this completely missing from the realm of current comics. This has it all. I can see from a glance an interesting insight about what this comic is about. The jester has a crazy mob ready to hang Daredevil! That alone makes me want to look and buy the comic. Add to it word balloons where he is bringing home the concept that Daredevil will be hanged, something else I miss from covers, word balloons. Oh don't tell me they interfere with the art. I've done seen a million stare down pose covers and I don't think I can stomach one more. Give me an insight cover like this with word balloons and drama before I even open it up and you'll me as a fan for life!

I could care less about stuff like this. I bought it a couple of years ago when I was trying a lot of new comics. It's actually not a bad comic but it's not something I would have collected. Being I bought it from DCBS, I probably paid about $2 for this. I probably should have waited until the movie got closer but I sold it last week for around $5.50 plus shipping. I'm satisfied with that.

I've been selling these over and over for various sums as they get sold. A lot of people don't realize that John Carter #18 is the 1st Marvel artwork by Frank Miller. I've known about it for years and have been picking them up from dumpsters for $1 or less ever since. I've gotten as little as about $1.84 on one auction, to as high as $15.85 in others. On average, I usually get at least a few bucks. Considering I have nothing but chump change in all of them, I take it all with glee each time I sell one.

Stuff like this I don't care too much about at all, but I did get a chuckle or two reading it. A hooker becomes a superhero. My favorite scene is when she gives a Superman-like character a blow job and when he cums, he has to make sure her head gets out of the way or it will blow it off. I think he shoots his load so hard that he hit an airplane flying by.

This is the kind of stuff I really hate to sell. The Fantastic Four became my Silver Age drug of choice back in the 90s and I've always been a tremendous fan of Jack Kirby during this run. To me Jack started kind of weak and grew stronger the longer he was on this series. Somewhere around issue #43 or so, he started hitting his prime. From that point on, he just got more and more awesome and I think this comic here is right around his complete peak of things. This is an awesome comic. You can't flip a page and not see cool shit. Jack was so damn dynamic. Yes, I think he regressed in the 70's and by the 80's his work had turned to shit. But this here is Jack at his greatest! What a classic cover! And not only is the art and the Kirby Crackle and everything so Classic, but I also love the coloring. And more importantly, the choice of what got colored where. I've had this book a few times in my life and it's always easy to get rid of. But when I sold it this time, I felt kind of sad.

I may not have ever read the story either. FF is a series I'd like to have owned. I liked it better than Spider-Man. df1

I remember when it came out and I was not the least bit enticed to buy it. df1
