I know I've said differently before, but since we have discussed it here, I've looked stronger of the work of JR. JR. I've come to the conclusion that I'd rather see his work which renders fully dynamic and believable scenes with cartoonish styles over some tighter artists who deliver nothing but pose shots and boredom. JR JR is really as talented as he wants to be. I think his work is loose just so he can get the jobs finished. And if he managed to take his time, he could probably Kick Ass as much as the character in this book. Read more: comiccrack.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=good&action=display&thread=1043&page=3#ixzz16h1IyYuwI have known this for many years. Its nice to know that even though you had strong objections to him during conversations, that you were able to set that aside long enough to see what he does bring to his comics. BRAVO. Oh and I enjoyed the story also.

I'm bored to tears with shortcuts just so an artist can pump out more work. That's exactly why I got fed up and quit buying Stray Bullets. The story was fine. I'm sick of serious stories being drawn in a cartoon style. df1

To be quite honest, I'd rather have good.
Some guys can be fast and still be good and I think JR JR is one of those because his layouts are strong enough that any solid inker could make it into a thing of beauty.
In this day and age where books are delayed on a dime and with spotty results when they do come out (Image United anyone?), It doesn't make sense to be slow and still not be good.
I can forgive a product being late if the art itself is wonderful and worth the wait.
But I'm also one who thinks it's sad for comics to be on a monthly schedule and still not be professional enough to meet the deadlines. There is a fine line of giving and taking when it comes to that. Back in the day there may have been fill in issues by other artists while the main artist caught up. I'm fine with that because it kept the level of professionalism.
I guess if an artist can be fast and keep enough balance to do a good job, I'm okay with it. But if it looks like shit, I'm not. I'd rather wait and have it be worth the money when I put down my hard earned cash for it. Rather than it be something an artist whipped out in a frenzy just to get the job done.

So, simply being fast isn't an acceptable alternative. These are supposed to be professionals. df1

I like what Brubaker has been doing with Captain America. He has 3 rotating artists of similar styles so that the books do not get behind.
