I have to admit for many years I got burned out on Byrne, but this is like a breath of fresh air. He kind of has that "gets it" feel. This is a book I want to continue with. That alone is a major accomplishment. I got the Wulf book and was a bit disappointed. I did like some of the aspects of it though. I'm waiting for a few more of my Atlas books to start showing up. I sometimes want to get into other Captain America books but I don't want it to turn into another version of Batman who god knows, needs a good round of cancellations on 3/4ths of the Batman titles. I'm still enjoying the regular run of Cap though. You'll have to tell us how Thunderstrike continued. I read #1 and liked the old feel of it, but I wasn't a really big fan of this book. Unfortunately, this feels just a bit 2nd rate in terms of characters. But I liked who was working on it and appreciated the job they did with it. I just don't find the characters appealing for long periods of time.

I REALLY want to do a review on Dragon Age vol. 1 and I plan on doing that before I do a review on Thunderstrike vol. 2 (and I'm not going to read #2 until I have #5 so I can read the series in one setting) or any other series for that matter. I also got to a do reviews on The Transformers: Bumblebee and The Transformers: Drift mini-series/TPBs for a small TF site that I go to. And on top of of all that I got to do some new, update, and clean up (spelling and grammar) on some video game reviews that I wrote for fun on my site that a friend of mine wants to post on his site as well. As well write matches for my wrestling e-fed.

Please feel free to post all the review you want to on the Crack! It's here for you to voice your opinions! The only thing I would ask, if possible is if you could try to include a scan of the book in your reviews. It kind of makes the visualization of the book your talking about more real. But other than that, I'm glad to see someone us making reviews besides me!
Speaking of which, I've been wanting to do some more myself. I've just been slacking around here lately. March numbers were terrible. I'm going to try and pick it up a bit this month. I've just been so intense with getting settled in on my new job. Nothing like moving millions of dollars from one position to another and being responsible for any errors on it. Um, it's kind of taken my focus away from the board here. But I'm going to try a bit harder in the coming months.

You just described my last 16 years. df1 I always understand what you mean when you talk about this stuff. My QA'ing before was really kind of stupid because it didn't have any backup when we busted people and the stakes were not that high to begin with. I got sick of the BS and eventually I quit. Mostly because I couldn't stand the way management did things. Now it's pretty different. If I miss something it's got my name all over it. And a typical day is between $7 - $15,000,000. And if we bust someone, it can mean their job. That's why I haven't been around as much over the past month or so. I've been focusing on learning and not fucking up. I'm trying not to end up on the news. So even though its in completely different fields. I always relate when you talk about quality control inspecting stuff.

I'm trying to break him of that instant desire to jump in and save the day. First and foremost is CYA. Cover You Ass. I explained to him that a NASA tile inspector was facing 40 indictments and life in prison because he signed off some tile inspection reports as good when there were clear discrepancies. All it takes is a blink and you'll overlook something. df1

CYA is really what my job is all about. I have to sign my initials on tracking logs of everything I do all day or I have to verify what someone else does that I laid my eyes on what they did all day long. Its either one or the other. As a result, I can't do any piece of my job at all without either being the one responsible for doing it or the one responsible for witnessing it. So you take all kinds of measures to prove what you did. On a different note, me and my wife drove into town today and I got my haircut from my usual lady (14 years of service) and then we made our way to the Barnes and Noble. My wife wanted a cook book with low calorie meals. I've been doing real good in relation to my health. I've lost 22 lbs since the beginning of last year. I've been working out and I'm on an 1800 calorie a day diet. I'm feeling better every day. Sleep is in control and so many other things. Including what used to be runaway stress. While she was looking those books over, I spotted on a sales rack two books. 1 ones a hardcover "Kirby" by Mark Evanier. Normally $40 on sale for $9. Nice thick hardbound book. The other was a "How to draw Graphic Novels" book. I forget who did it (Im not looking at it at the moment). But as I scanned through it, it looked like it had some great stuff in it. This one was $10. So for basically $20, I got 2 nice comic related real books. It was a good day. And I do believe my comics will arrive in the mail when I get home tomorrow evening. Nice!

I got the Kirby book a couple of years ago for Christmas. That is a great book regarding him. Probably the best in all honesty.
