Yeah, I know DC fucked up. It's just a matter of how bad and how fast it hurts Diamond. This is the year things get worse for comics. People have tried to justify buying new comics at $3 & $4. As they drop titles, they are going to like that money they save each month. They won't come back to buying comics. I have to be honest. In the past when I stopped buying new comics, I missed it. There were a few titles I thought were good and I would just miss the feeling of getting new comics. It felt like I was more in the know and quitting meant I was missing something. My last 2 years with new comics was so abysmal, I got to feeling like only 1 out of every 10 new comics I purchased were "decent" comics. The other 9 were almost always pure shit. The feeling was so bad and the decisions that these companies kept making were so dreadful, that I just finally quit. I can't remember the last time I got to the end of an issue and I couldn't wait for the next issue to come out. It used to be so common back in the day. There used to be true legitimate cliffhangers.... I have to admit, I don't miss purchasing new comics anymore. I enjoy having the extra money. I now use it to purchase other things I used to go without. New Comic Collecting is almost completely dead. They brought it upon themselves. The sad part is nobody cares and not one editor in chief has been fired for being incompetent. Not 1. Can you think of any other profession you can be so inept and keep your lucrative job while things continue to get worse like this under your watch besides the President (and even that is a bit sketchy at present).

You should be reading Jim Shooter's blog. He tries to be nice, but he just rips them apart at delivering the basics. df1

I check out and read his blog occasionally. Usually when I do read it, he is spot on about everything about comics. What made it work in his day, what it's lacking today.
Really what I miss about comics is Jim's vision. He always had comics with a purpose. Following a path. His comics always seemed cohesive and like they all belonged together. You have no one today that even wants to follow this kind of path. Instead, they'll provide me another mini series of shortsightedness.
I really think we need somebody like Jim today. If not Jim, someone who thinks like he did and leads like he did. People keep telling me I'm wrong and at the same time they're about to witness the end of printed comics happen right before their eyes. I don't feel too wrong when I know comics have never been worse off. I think if you want it this way, you deserve to see comics die.

I get tired of the truly stupid people who drop in to defend the utter shit publishers are printing. df1
