Thanks guys. Great advice and support. It just sucks, that no matter how hard I try to improve myself and also to prove my capabilities, that I get fucked around like this, while others seem to have stuff just fall into their laps that is generally beyond their capabilities. Oh well, whats done is done. Here is a pencil sketch of Ms. Marvel. This is my first time drawing her and its out of my head with no referance. hope you like.

Nice piece Mike!
I think persistence will eventually pay off. You just have to keep going after it.

Thanks guys. I am glad you like it. Since you do, here is another one I drew yesterday while I was bored. This is actually a small drawing, only 4"x6" in size.

Well I guess no one liked my mini hulk picture. Bummer. I bought a pad of Comic book layout pages from the art store the other day, each page has 4 miniature comic pages with markings for placing the frames, and notation areas for laying out what is going on on the page. I laid out 3 pages of a Captain America sample yesterday. Gonna add another couple of pages today. The paper is made by canson who also makes Comic book pages and comic book cover pages. All in non-repro blue. Good stuff.

Its a good picture Mike but if I had to be honest I'd say it looks kind of stock. The layout and everything and the drawing itself is fine but personally, its lacking just a bit of umph factor.
In comparison I think the Ms. Marvel is a bit stock too but the difference is it looks much tighter and I think its a better done more solid piece of work. My only complaint with it would be I think the face is a tiny bit funky but otherwise its fine. The body and detail is what I like. I prefer to see you put a lot into to your work even if it is not bringing you money or fame or anything else. If you do comic work I always prefer seeing you stretching your limits than staying within what I know you can do. In recent years you've had a bit more a cartoon appearance in your work and I prefer the realism side of it more. I think that is the difference for me. I think I know what you're capable of and I want to see you stretch that when it comes to comics. I'm more interested in seeing you slave over pages and it come out a masterpiece than seeing you churn out pages and I see a shortcut component to it. I'd much prefer you slave over your pages. But thats just me. I don't think any less of you and I'm not knocking you. You could make it either way. Just my preference. That's all.

No knocking. You do realize though that the hulk picture is only 4 inches wide by 6 inches tall right? so the hulk himself, is only about 3 inches tall. Wait till you see these Cap pages that I am going to do up.

Wait till you see these Cap pages that I am going to do up. Yeah, its a good small piece. I really can't say anything is wrong about it except I'd like to see a bit more detail in the Hulk. But I think that comes from being small. So no, nothing wrong with the picture other than it has a stock appearance. Otherwise, its a solid piece of work.

Here is another drawing I did earlier this week. Again, no referances used so there may be some mistakes.
